I am installing all my Steinberg stuff on a new Windows 11 PC. I have WaveLab Pro 12 which must have come with my Cubase Pro 12 purchase. When I launch my Cubase 14, I get a licensing error saying WaveLab is not licensed - it must be from the e-licenser era. Is there a way for me to license that on my new PC. My e-license info in my Cubase account doesn’t specifically reference Wavelab because it came bundled with Cubase Pro
Wavelab Pro is not bundled with Cubase Pro 12, it is a product that you need to buy seperately. This has nothing to do with the old eLicenser.
Included with Cubase Pro is Wavelab Go (or Wavelab One in earlier releases). This doesn’t show up in the Activation Manager.
I’ve bought many Cubase products over the years. My download manager says I own various versions of WaveLab: Pro 12, Pro 11, Pro 10 etc and allows me to install them. I have never purchased it stand alone. This is the first time I am installing on a PC that does not have the e-soft licensing USB. I’m surprised my download assistant is letting me install any products I don’t own. This is the only product in my download assistant that is giving me a license error. Does Steinberg put products in your download manager that you don’t own? I have installed everything else in my download assistant and all else is working.
Is Wavelab there under My product downloads menu?
When you log in to Steinberg, you can see what products you have.
Thanks. No WaveLab is not listed there. There are many things I’ve purchased from Steinberg that are not in that list - lots of Groove Agent packs, Synthesizers (Halion), Dorico 4 etc. Those items are available under the other tabs, and I’ve been able to install them. Sounds like I don’t own a copy of Wave Labs. Thank you.
You can contact support to know more. Also, you can check If you have an Access Code that was purchased and not activated.
