Am I the only person who remembers how convenient it was [in cubase vst] to be able to click on a midi part and save it so as to have a library of part files comprising l’il old tunes, sequences, controller curves etc. Presently I save them to another project file but it is clumsy…

No you’re not. There’s nothing like that in Cubase post y2k. What is needed is drag and drop to the mediabay window. Maybe if more people made it known that it’s wanted the devs could justify more resources to throw at it.
