EastWest Opus not found in Cubase 14

Hi All, I searched for this topic but nothing pertinent came back. I just upgraded to Cubase 14 for Windows and getting the following error and I’m ONLY using VST 3 and higher plugins.

Cubase 13 still finds everything fine, no issues there. Any ideas?

I see no response to TwanV on his query for the same, so I’m posting here to escalate the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Are you using the VST2 version of Opus? By default support for VST2 plugins is switched off in Cubase 14. You can switch back on in the VST Plugin Manager (at the bottom is a VST power on button).

I just updated my post to the same. No, I’m NOT using VST2 plugins.

Ok, well I just updated Opus about 15 minutes ago and selected the VST3 ONLY option, but obviously, it ignored what I said. After I enabled VST 2, everything is working again. Something is seriously wrong with their software!!!

It’s weird, I think the VST3 plugins are supposed to fall under ‘Sampler’ for some reason. I’ll investigate.

I really haven’t used the VST Manager much before. Why does Opus show up with a line for VST 3.7.12 and 0 instances? I know I’ve got VST 3 instances installed.

How do I manually tell Cubase where the VST 3 folder is for Opus?

Because all 15 instances are tried to be opened by the VST2 version. Maybe check your project in Cubase 13’s plugin manager - is the VST3 or the VST2 version being used.

You might be able to remedifiy the issue by uninstalling the VST2 version before launching Cubase. That might force Cubase to use the VST3 plugin instead.
WARNING: I am not sure if the above will work.

Or you simply enable VST2 support as I wrote in my previous response.

Okay, I’ll keep working at it. I might temporarily move the VST 2 files somewhere where it won’t scan.

Thanks!
