if i drop in a new tempo point with the pencil tool in the open Tempo Track editor it is placed without snap to grid, even though snap is active. i always need to manually type in the exact location after the point is created.
I cannot reproduce it here. What Cubase version do you have?

found out the problem.
when single clik on the tempo curve to create a point there is no snap and the new point is placed where i clik regardless of the snap setting.
if however i clik and hold and move, the new point then snaps to the assigned grid.

Yes, that makes sense. When you move any point, when the Snap is On, then the Snap is applied.
