Edit-> Left Selection Side To Cursor

Edit-> Left Selection Side To Cursor

What exactly does this do?

Backstory: I’ve been using Cubase since it was born and have always assigned the letter E to export audio. I’m finally migrating to C13 and went to assign E to Export and learned that Cubase already has it assigned to “Edit-> Left Selection Side To Cursor”.

I tried experimenting with this key command but it doesn’t seem to do anything. No matter what I try it on. Parts, events midi, etc.
Thanks

It’s for the range tool. E takes the left side of the range to the cursor, D takes the right side of the range to the cursor.

Thanks very much. I would have never figured that out.
