Editing Instrument Definition: Number of staff lines

Hi Everyone,

When I edit the instrument definition of one of the staves (ie. the number of staff lines), Dorico changes the staff name to the top stave in the bracketed staves and changes all the bracketed staves to that format. Why is this and how can I change the definition of only one instrument?
