Is it possible?
There are times when I’d like to delete projects from the recent project list just to keep it cleaner.
For example when there are too many versions of one project. Or when I know that I won’t be returning to certain project anymore.

Right click on the project name in the hub, then choose “remove from list.”
If you really, really don’t like using the hub, you can always go into your prefs file and delete what you want-- that is what I used to do, back in the day.

The most intuitive solution would be to right-click in the Recents list and then delete the item.
