Effects Inserts On Clips

Hi

While working I always wish for each clip to have an Effect Insert ‘rack’. It’s usually for a bit of EQ…

Sure, I can set up a separate Track and use those inserts… or there’s the Clip Processing ( which gets tricky if I have to undo or adjust later )…

But a Clip Based insert rack would be perfect ( like in WaveLab ).

I completely agree with you! Having a dedicated effect insert rack for each clip would be a game-changer for workflow efficiency. Like you, I often find myself wishing for an easier way to apply effects, such as EQ, directly to individual clips without having to manage additional tracks or navigate through Clip Processing.

The current options (like using separate tracks or Clip Processing) can become cumbersome, especially when adjustments are required later or if I want to experiment non-destructively. An item-based FX system (similar to what’s available in Reaper or Vegas Pro) would allow us to apply effects directly to clips in a non-destructive and flexible manner, offering both real-time control and ease of adjustment.

This would streamline the process and eliminate the need for workarounds like setting up extra tracks or relying on offline processes. It’s especially useful in post-production, where rapid adjustments and multiple iterations are common.
