Could you give us more information, maybe some screenshots, please?
Can you see the Device Port in the Audio Connections > Inputs? Do you have proper Input Bus created here? Is it selected on the track? Is Record enabled and if you want to monitor the input, is Monitor enabled?
Are you on Mac or Windows?
