eLicenser licenses. What to do now?

Hello.

I didn’t use Cubase for several months, and today I wanted to reinstall it on my new PC. I read on the website that the elicenser is no longer supported, but that software with elicenser licenses will still work, and that you can ““upgrade”” the licenses to the new system too…

The thing is, I can clearly see my license under “My steinberg” on the website, and I downloaded both the new Activation Manager and the elicenser control center, but there’s nothing I can do to get the license to show on either one. The “register all elicensers at mySteinberg” option is greyed out in the software, and it shows nothing under “my licenses” obviously. On “MySteiberg”, “Registered devices” it shows an elicenser code, I guess that was the installation on my older PC, and no “deactivate” button…
So, it seems my Cubase license is forever attached to that specific eLicenser control center installation and there’s nothing I can do. So, I purchased a software (not a subscription service) that has just stopped working.

Am I missing something? Anything I can do to continue using that Cubase license?

Probably best to contact steinberg directly. This has been notified for a long time now with lots of reminders and emails, giving people plenty of time to either upgrade or if a soft licence move it to a usb licencer which will keep working.

It’s not clear if you can actually see a Cubase license in MySteinberg or if you only see an elicenser device? There’s a little arrow to the right of the device and that should ioopen a list of all licenses on it.
If the license is showing in the device then it is possible to upgrade but that’s a paid update to C14.
I’m assuming this is Elements on a soft license as USB elicense you would need for Pro will work normally if plugged in to the computer.

Ahh sorry it wasn’t very clear. I can see the license on MySteinberg, I mean on the website, under products it says: Cubase elements 10.5, soft-elicenser.

However, it’s in the eLicenser control center software on Windows that I cannot see any license, nor can I “Register all eLicensers on mySteinberg” under “Registration” within that same software.
I also tried the newer software “Activation Manager” and it doesn’t show the license there either.

Thank you!

OK…so with the license in MySteinberg you can run a paid update but I think that’s your only option now.

Any elicenser license transfer had to be done before yesterday.

The elements release was using the Soft elicenser and that can not be recreated now.

Fortunately you say you have all registered in your MySteinberg profile, so you should be able to get a update to the latest release as @Grim already wrote, for the standard update price.
