eLicenser on VirtualBox VM

I have installed Windows 10 on in VirtualBox. When I try to activate Cubase
Pro I get a message saying that the version of eLicenser is too old and I
need to upgrade it. eLicenser is up to date (current version 6.11.9.3259 -
November 4, 2019). The real issue I believe is that eLicenser cannot make
sense of the OS being run as a VM. Here is the log generated when I attempt
to enter my activation code…

Did you install the extras? Extensions…

Apart from the fact that the USB eLicenser is a piracy protection device that is unlikely to work in a virtualized environment in the first place, what are you hoping to achieve? Audio latency will be abysmal. Reatime audio applications need to be as near to the metal as possible.

I use Cubase mainly for music composition so latency is not an issue as much (5ms on the VM). Yes, the VB Extensions are installed.

Then I guess it doesn’t work in a hypervisor environment.
