eLicenser server is down

I have the same problem- in less than 20 hours I cannot use my newly bought update to C 7.5 - I just ask if somebody in this thread gives a signal when the server is up again.
erikpsyk/ denmark

So I am not the only one with that problem
I get a message that tels me its “due to maintenance work”

I’ve been waiting since yesterday afternoon to use new software that is ALREADY INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER!!!
I can’t use it, because I can’t activate my license.
Do I have to wait till Jan.2 when somebody returns to the Steinberg wheelhouse?
Very, very disappointing.

yep, I just rewired my four computer farm and have to use a new upgraded computer for the DAW now, and cannot use my system at all as a result of this. A simple statement at least acknowledging the problem would be appreciated.

Been down now about 24hrs. from reading the other posts on the other thread about this. (see post above for that thead of many more experiencing the issue)

Paul

So, I know everyone gets some time off, but to not even have a web mod available to comment on this issue seems like it might be actionable.

Ive been trying to activate a new product for 24 hours and keep receiving this message.

Any official comment Steinberg please?

Vienna Symphonic Library
VirSyn Software Synthesizer
Waldorf
XILS-lab

You are not the only one
Here is a toppic where most people seem to have this problem

Thanks DJR…missed that thread
cheers

Me too…since yesterday. Cannot activate new product…frustrating!

27 hours and counting - I’ve been up all night / day trying their server for most of them - I think it’s a disgraceful level of service.

The People @reFX also seem to be aware of the Problem
Something about “Steinberg using up there entire SLA for the year fast…”

Informed the user in Vienna Symphonic Library forum too…

If this is true…we all have to wait until jan 1 st 2014 to activate the products we have paid for?

Is that acceptable?

I informed reFX as well.

yes, I see they are posting about the eLicense issue on the VSL forum, too. I got through to Brian McGovern at Steinberg and sent a screen shot of the message we all get. Hope this gets solved soon.

Paul

I cant believe this is happening… I really consider to switch to the other side. PRO TOOLS & MAC
STEINBERG AHOLES THIS IS A F*** DISGRACE

Poor programmers from Steinberg…

They make such a good job (to get customers) and the service guys put them to flight…

My, my - what a lovely post.

Its working now.

Just to be fair, maybe this is not entirely Steinberg’s fault. The eLicenser site has no forums, nor have I seen any announcement there about the issue.

Then again, I have noticed that this forum now has at least 5 new members, whose posts have only surrounded the activation problem we are all having right now. This in itself speaks volumes. However, Steinberg is selling their software in conjunction with an eLicencer dongle, aka “The Steinberg Key”–a term frequently used by other software companies who need to inform their customers that they need to activate their software using that dongle. My point is: a new Steinberg customer is not obliged to “know” that other companies also use the same type of dongle for activation, so they hold Steinberg responsible for such unfortunate events, and rightfully so.

For the rest of us “returning customers” well, we have chosen Steinberg products, and all we can do besides expressing our frustration is to keep riding Steinberg’s roller-coaster like we all have in the past.

Bottom line is: it would be nice if Steinberg joined the conversation to explain what is happening, or at least clarify how this may not be their fault–although I genuinely doubt anything but a successful activation would satisfy new (or even older) customers.
