Hi, so i’ll be straight forward here i’m very VERY new to steinberg. I tried out the free vst’s and decided to buy absolute 6 around two weeks ago when it went on sale. I am JUST finding out about this grace period stuff and migrating licenser software. Where I’m essentially at as someone who doesn’t fully understand this yet, is that I either am going to have to have someone give me a step by step with exact details start of process to end of process as detailed for dummies as possible and definitions for terms given, or will refund then never use steinberg again. Those are the options here, this isn’t okay, i paid for a software let me use it.
If no helpful assistance can be provided within this forum and/or no contact can be given for step-by-step assistance for this unreasonably difficult process, then a phone number to contact the store provider in charge of sales/refunds will be an order. Thank you.
It looks like you bought the wrong product. You didn’t buy Absolute 6. You bought a license that takes an already existing license for Absolute 1, 2 or 3 and changes it into a license for Absolute 6. Presumably since you are new to Steinberg you don’t have a license for one of those older versions - so there is nothing to update in the first place.
I’d contact whoever you bought it from and return or exchange it for a full license.
FYI in Steinberg jargon Update means going from an older to the newest version of a product. While Upgrade is from a ‘budget’ version of a product like going from Cubase 13 Artist to Cubase 13 Pro.
