eLicenser will not install

I have bought a new Lexicon product, and it came with CuBase 5LE.

My old Lexicon product has CuBase 4LE.

I want to give my old Lexicon, with CuBase 4LE, to my son, as I do not need it anymore.

CuBase installed nicely on my son’s Compaq Presario V5000 (XP Home SP3), and runs beautifully.

So, now we want to register and activate it.

I downloaded the latest eLicenser software, but it will not install on my son’s laptop. The eLicenser install pops up an error message box saying that .net Frameworks needs to be 2.0 or later.

My son’s laptop is completely up-to-date with all the MicroSoft updates, and it is running .net Frameworks v4.0.

Any help would be appreciated.

The important part of the instructions (quoted below) from Brad of Steinberg worked.

First make sure that you have the Microsoft NetFramwork 3.5 installed in your system (not 4.0). Here’s the link to this update:

Then please go to > http://www.elicenser.net/en/latest_downloads.html > Download and install the latest version of the eLicenser Control Center.
