I’m formatting a score.
I decided I want the “Header” text box at the bottom (so, a Footer).
Also, I want the information in the box to be on the outside edge of the page, not centered.
But the boxes on the facing pages are locked together - if I edit the left face, the right face changes the same way. But I want the left face to be left-justified and the right face to be right-justified.
How do I unlink the text boxes? Or how do I justify to “outside edge” rather than left or right?
Hi Ryan. Nothing forces you to copy L to R or R to L in the first place…
If you still want to do it, use paragraph styles that have “outer page” or “inner page” justification instead of Left or Center. You should find it’s quite easy to achieve what you’re after with the tools you have
I’m not clicking the Copy L to R buttons. If I edit the Left, the Right automatically updates.
Okay - I figured out how to create a new Paragraph style and set Outside edge.
THANK YOU
I’m 8.5 years into Dorico. Engrave Mode still eludes me.
Ok. But that would be on already existing frames that have been created using that copy button, IIRC.
If you create text frames from scratch and thus create one for the even page and one for the odd, even if the token is the same and has the same properties, you’ll notice they are completely independent.
No problem! I guess that’s why this forum is so useful!
I’ve done text frames from scratch. I tried to take a shortcut and use what was already on the page. And created more work for myself.
