Engraving questions

Hi, I have some questions about engraving.

  1. Is it possible to have a specific page numerotation (for example : 1, 2, 3A, 3B, 4, …)
  2. Is it possible to create an index of all blocks (with their associated page number) without doing it manually ?
  3. Is it possible to remove the letter into a Rehearsal marks. I’d like to use, for example, “Leila’s Theme” and not “C - Leila’s Theme”

Thanks a lot for your answers

  1. If you have Dorico Pro, you should be able to insert a Page number change

right click the mini-page that should receive it.

Then tweak the settings, for example :

  1. I think it would be easier to create a Paragraph style that mimics the Rehearsal Mark’s one. Using properties to modify a rehearsal mark is possible but not really user friendly :person_shrugging:
Then input it as system text (shift-alt-X)

  1. There’s no easy way to do this, although some tokens exist that you could use. Search the forum, this has already been explained before, although not sure it would satisfy you.

Thanks a lot for your answers,

I will try to find in the forum for the point 2, and it’s perfect for me for 1 and 3.

I have found some solutions, not perfect, but who can be great while there isn’t any automation to do this more efficiently.

Thanks a lot

Unfortunately, I’ve been waiting for years for a better naming of sections. Although I would not write “Leila’s theme”, I would like to use names like “Chorus, Bridge, Intro” with the same functionality as rehearsal marks, but without losing them. And of course it would be perfect if these section names could also be positioned left-justified to the page margin. Until the Dorico team can take into account the wishes of people who write non-classical works, there is a workaround with rehearsal marks (see the two images: Input, Result).

This has already been described in another topic, but unfortunately I can no longer find it. So I am not using the system texts described by Mark above.

Be very careful, because this could turn into a year’s imprisonment theme… Williams is not in the public domain.

Don’t worry, this is just an example
