in the German Manual there is a wrong keyboard shortcut, for adding a hyphen without advancing the lyrics popover: it should be Alt + - instead of Alt + ß .
The same shortcut as in English also works for German.

Heiko, just confirming!
I use a German QWERTZ keyboard too.
If I during Lyric input use alt+- I will get a (non advancing) dash –
(instead of a hyphen -)
If I use the suggested key combination
alt+ß I will get a head down question mark ¿

thanks for confirming. Are you on Mac? On Win 11 I just get a ß , when in press Alt + ß.
Btw., how du you create the boxes for the letters in Discourse?

Use kbd and /kbd enclosed in the “is less than” and “is greater than” symbols to surround the desired keyboard key-name.
