Entering natural sign in notation

How do you enter the natural sign in writing notation? For example, B-flat to B natural.

Welcome to the forum, @0202!

If you’re entering something as staff text (Shift+X), then you can right-click while you’re entering text and choose Insert Music Text. Then pick the Standard Accidentals category and you’ll see the flat and natural signs that you can insert.

If that’s not what you’re trying to do, can you explain a little more?

Type 0 (Zero) with the note selected.

Thank you. You would think that if you are writing in dm and want to use a b natural that using the sharp would create a natural sign.

Personally, I would find that behavior confusing.

You can also apply a natural sign directly from the left-hand toolbox.

Or if you want something that always raises a note by a half step (i.e., F to F# but also Bb to B), you can use Shift+Alt/Opt+up arrow. Sometimes you need to respell a note after raising or lowering it; that’s Alt/Opt+minus to respell it with the note name below and Alt/Opt+plus to respell it with the note name above.

Also, the symbols in the toolbox are mapped to ‘0’, ‘-’, and ‘=’

I, for one, would never think that. Notation is notation. If you want a natural sign, you write a natural sign.

On the other hand, the original symbol in medieval times for a natural b was precisely our modern sharp…

Notation is notation, yes! but it evolves  We use now differently the natural and the sharp.
