Hi,in cubase channel eq where the kow and high cut are,its possible to change from 12db-48db cuts
This is something that i struggle to understand
Can someone give me examples of why you would not just use 48 db cut all the time?

Because different filter designs /slopes have different pros and cons. And different signals might require different treatment.

More aggressive cuts with digital eq can introduce more artifacting, it’s often a good idea to apply similar cuts to streams of the same source to avoid phase issues - unless they sound great! There’s no right and wrong.
