Errors when working in Cubase

Hello everyone. I would like to ask for your help.

Since version 13 Pro, Cubase has been “freezing” in the first open window ( Cubase Pro Hub ) after every first start - when loading the path to projects.

I have to close Cubase using Task Manager.

When I start it again without changing anything in “Safe Mode” (the window for possible changes to start Cubase), the program loads the project directories and starts without problems. If I don’t turn off the PC that day, but only Cubase, it starts all day without problems but always with the window for changes to start Cubase.

Another problem I have with Cubase is that since version 12 Pro, after trying to change the tempo in a project, using the Music mode setting in the info bar and the command in the sound tab - advanced - “Set tempo definition”, Cubase throws an error message. see attachment.

I needed a larger C:/HDD so I reinstalled the entire system and purchased an upgrade to version 14Pro. I was hoping that the problems would be solved but unfortunately…

Windows 11 Pro is a clean install then Cubase installation in Steinberg Download Assistant.

I have Cubase 14 Pro 14.0.10 installed, Drum Machine, Spectral Layers, HAlion Sonic, Halion Sonic Selection.

Then Kontakt 7 and stuff from Toontrack, AmpliTube 4 MAX

In Studio Setup/Midi ports see if ticking use winRT midi helps with the freeze.

If you search ucrtbase crashing Cubase you’ll find a few threads, maybe there is a solution there…seems to be graphics related.

Hello, thanks for trying to help. It looks like this:

I’ve already searched here for ucrtbase problems but I didn’t find anything with the internal graphics on the processor. I’ll look again.

So see if ticking the box helps like I suggested??

Hello. Ticking the box caused Cubase to no longer hang after startup and I don’t have to shut it down via Task Manager, but the “Safe Mode” window (the window for possible changes to start Cubase) opens straight away.

OK…this suggests it’s still hanging on exit in some way.
Maybe experiment by unplugging midi devices and see if it shuts and restarts without the dialogue.

I was just about to write to you that I disconnected the Midi keyboard and Cubase starts fine. Thank you for pointing out the cause of the problem.
But I guess I won’t be able to set it up so that the midi works properly.
I’ll connect it when I actually use it, otherwise I’ll leave it disconnected.

Now, in the future, just fix that ucrtbase error and I’ll be happy.
