I don’t think you “missed” a grace period. Dorico 5 came out in May 2023, so only people who bought Dorico 4 during the grace period before May 2023 would get Dorico 5 for free. The grace period is normally only a little over a month, so only people who bought Dorico 4 in April-May 2023, or perhaps late March depending on the exact grace period, would qualify. The grace period is just meant to give people the upgrade to the latest version for free if they happened to buy the upgrade right before the new version came out. In your case you got Dorico 4 in late 2022 which is too early for the grace period. So, you didn’t miss a grace period opportunity that was there because you missed an email - it was instead because you bought or activated Dorico 4 too early to fit into the grace window.
