'Eternity'

Thought I’d post another ditty seeing as my previous one set this place on fire… (ya gotta laugh sometimes!) it’s a music/photos video on the the ‘Tube’ here:

The piece was inspired by the story of a Sydney man, Arthur Malcolm Stace also known as ‘Mr. Eternity’ (9 February 1885 – 30 July 1967), who for many years left the word ‘Eternity’ written in chalk on buildings, footpaths, stairwells etc.
This is dedicated to ‘Mr. Eternity’ and members of my family who have passed into ‘Eternity’, R.I.P.

Thanks for any comments.

Hi Mauri,
Very personal to you, as was your last piece before this. That’s often a good way to get a meaningful performance, and you seemed to respond well to that. It’s well performed and recorded. The mix works for me, and the spaces and placement in it worked well. Guessing it was softsynth bass and drums again, but they were done well, and your bass did have what almost sounded like the attack of a bassist playing with a pick. I couldn’t tell exactly what the chordal instrument was (guitar with effects, or keys) , but that sounded good and moved things along well. Nice work, and nice work getting listeners to ponder the idea that we do shuffle off this mortal coil to someplace else at some point. Let’s hope that’s not too soon for those of us still here, and that wherever that someplace is, that it’s a nice place with something like music in it.

Thanks for taking the time, John, I appreciate it.
Yes, it is personal, some tough times right now and I guess that’s reflected in my music.
The bass is Trilian with a Chapman Stick patch, the chordal sounds provided by three channels of Omnisphere, Albino 3 and ImpOSCr2, drums are EZdrummer 3

I know that ideally instruments should be the ‘real’ variety played by ‘real’ people but I have no way to do that. However, I did write all the parts and had my vrtual musicians play those parts.
That’s what Cubase is basically all about, a ‘music creation’ tool and I’m very happy with that arrangement.

Thank you very much for your time and your insightful comments, John.
