(Cubase 14 because my 15 trial ran out)

I just realized that if you have Event Line Gain, open an instance of Spectralayers, and then ‘Make Extension Permanent’ it seems to render the event line gain, but still shows the event line gain but I believe it is actually inactive, as if you bounce the event it doesn’t double down on the gain process.
here you see Event Line Gain → ARA2 SL → Make Extension Permanent → Event Bounce → Then I edit undo the steps:
I was hoping to be able to open and do an edit in SL without the event line gain rendering but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

This fairly problematic, because sometimes you don’t notice problems that need spectral editing until after you’ve started a bunch of line gain editing…
There isn’t really a way out of this conundrum other than deleting all your line gain edits, doing the spectral edit, and then redoing your your line gain edit…
Unfortunately, you can’t copy-paste line-gain edits which would have been one way to preserver work if possible, but it’s not.
You can see in this video and picture:
- Top event: original
- Middle event: original + line gain
- bottom event: original/linegain + ARA2 + Make Extension Permanent
- It renders the original gain line, keeps the gainline which is then re-applied, you have to delete it to avoid double rendered gain.
I theorized and was hoping that line gain would work just as fades do with ARA2/SL (non-destructively):
