With the tools that are available in the the strip such as “Limit” and you can chose Maximizer, Brickwall, etc. But it only shows the strip version of the tool. Is there anyway to view the expanded version, such as when you put it as an insert?

No, there is not “slimmed/expand” version of the Channel Strip. There is no more parameters. See also Channel Settings Windows, please.
