Export As ChordPro

Greetings all,

Finale refugee here and I’m really liking what I’m seeing in Dorico. As someone who works with worship bands I’ve always wanted the option to export a lead sheet in ChordPro format. I have not seen that option in Dorico but could it be added?

Dorico is already tracking all the necessary info (lyrics, chords, and syllable that the chord occurs at). It would save a good deal of time if I could choose to export and get something like

A[G]mazing [G7]grace how [C]sweet the [G] sound.

Any way to add this or could this feature be added in the future?

Welcome to the forum, @Lochwork. Indeed, Dorico does not currently support this format, but it is something that we could potentially add in future.

I would like to add my vote to this request. I also need to make chord charts for a VBS program. I figured out how to export the lyrics, but need the chords too. FYI, I found a python script on github that converts MusicXML to ChordPro (xml2pro.py), but I’m not sure how to use it or if it works.
