Export audio click in the mixdown

Hello !
Is there a way to export the audio of a tempo track when you export a mixdown please ?
I need a quick and easy way to export songs (with the audio click) for others to practice (Complex time signatures).
Maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t seem to find a simple solution anywhere…
thanks a lot.
Arthur

just setup a midi track with a click per beat velocity say 100,80,80,80 and send that to a rim hit or some other click noise and mix that down at the appropriate volume.

Thank you for your answer, that would be a solution for normal “songs”, but here is the typical stuff I’m dealing with, so that’s why I was looking for a more practical solution
Arthur.

Then open your transport>metronome setup and send the click as a midi click - this should follow your tempo track.

Arthur, I haven´t actually tested this, but from experience, it should work on Cubase 9.5

  1. Load one instrument track, name it “clic” and load the sounds you want for the metronome (a drumset maybe)
  2. Metronome setup: go to the “click sounds” tab and select the instrument in “MIDI output Port”
  3. Still under the Click Sounds tab, disable Audio Click, enable MIDI clic, and then select the MIDI notes by draggin the sliders. You should hear the sounds of the previously selected instrument
  4. Program your metronome with the patterns that you need

  5. Create a group track and an audio track
  6. Send the instrument track’s output to the group
  7. On the audio track’s input routing, select the output of the group.
  8. Record Enable the audio track
  9. Press Record

Also, if you want the resulting audio to be independent from the project´s tempo during playback, you may want to activate “Linear Time Base” on the audio track.

Seems like there should be a simple way to achieve it. Maybe there is, but I can´t think of one out of the top of my head.

Hope it helps!

In 9.5 you can export the click track to an audio track then mix it down. In C9 or earlier you have to jump through hoops to do it.

Do tell JM, how do we do that?

you can actually quickly create a audio click track library using this function.
