Export Audio Mixdown: DATE option in Naming Scheme

Wouldn’t it be great if you could include today’s date in the filename, in a chosen format (ex. 2018.04.10) when you create the naming scheme in Export Audio Mixdown? That way the client (and you yourself) always knows which version of a mixdown WAV file is older or newer, and you don’t have to manually type in a variation like “version 2” or enter a date manually. WaveLab handles this beautifully. It would be great if Cubase could do the same.

An Annual Request of mine has been to allow for Regular Expressions to be placed in Naming Schemes

YESS!!! I’m waiting for this since years, we are on 12 and still nothing :frowning:

I don’t think I really need it, but I can see that such a feature could be useful.

+1 I think there are several common useful things that could be added in the naming convention. Date is an obvious one and I’ve often used it but it would also be important to choose format. I would also love to have timecode as it’s standard for TV/film work.

I would love to see this feature in Nuendo too!
The ability to add the current date (for example, 20251110 for today) to the naming scheme. I always add the date to my mix files… it’s easier than V1, V2, V3,… V16.

Since I posted this suggestion in 2018, I have actually moved from Cubase to Nuendo, so yes, I would love for it to appear there also!

I am doing the same thing as you, always adding today’s date. But it kind of sucks to do it manually. WaveLab Pro has already got this feature when naming files.
