Export Issues. No Audio

Everytime I Export my song there is no Audio waves and of course no sound. But it does show the size of the file. Any Ideas?

Can you attach a screenshot of your export dialogue?

Yes I can. Here it is.

Make sure the playback on your computer is set on the same sample rate as your session, which I see your sample export is 48.000 khz. See if that works

I am surprised that you are able to export anything because I can see the selection tool closed behind the export panel just next to the number 0

Yeah it’s clearly because of the locators.
Cubase will normally export what’s between them.
Open the export dialog, then select the area around the items you want to export then press P to set locators to selection, then render,

It also have an annoying feature which is to change the locators selection to everything on the project window when selecting export, I’d love that behaviour to be user-defined !!

I can also see that your selected channel has the output set to “left-headphones”, though your export is for the stereo out.
If all your tracks are routed to headphones out and this is a different output from stereo out then you will not be able to get sound on export no matter if you set the locators right.
Maybe a video tutorial on basic in/out routing will help you understand how it works

I figured it out. I had to set the routing to Stereo on My Tracks. Thanks so much for everyones Help.

Yes, That’s what I suggested. Glad you can move on with your exports. Cheers

I’m having the exact same problem-a blank file. I’ve tried Exporting the single Audio Track and the Stereo Out. I’ve tried MP3 and Wave. I’ve tried Real Time Export. I’ve tried opening both files in I-Tunes, Windows Media Player and VLC. What am I doing wrong?

After some experimentation, it seems that if the Track is selected (with the Track Record Enable in red) nothing will happen. Good to know.

It doesn’t matter if the track is selected or not for the export, but what makes the difference is that if the track’s monitor is engaged, you will not have the playback sound going to your stereo bus, thus not getting sound for this track on export.
You have to disable the tracks’ monitor for all channels you want exported.

Thanks almaelectronix; I’ll watch out for that the next time I Export.
