Exporting audio from MIDI to a track

I bought a Yamaha MX49 and I’ve got it setup and recording MIDI, but when I try to export the project to a .WAV file it comes back empty. I’ve watched videos on YouTube of people using other version of Cubase to create an audio track from a MIDI track by selecting the pool and create audio track options in the export settings window, but when I do so the audio track is also silent.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

You have to record the Audio signal from your MX49 to Cubase first.
