Exporting midi events to desktop not working!

I noticed that in cubase 14 i cant drag the midi event from the project timeline directly into the desktop. This doesnt happen in cubase 13. I have booth open and they have different behaviour.
Any changes in C14 that i´m not aware of?

Make sure you’re updated. This works in 14.0.10 (Build 144).

its precisely the one i have:

Validated working on mine, but I’m not using Rosetta. Have you ensured that N13 has “full disk access” in System Settings? Maybe it’s trying but doesn’t have permission.

Thanks again for your help.
i tried both, silicon and rosetta , doesnt work. And in the permission i have this :

You’ve got an earlier MacOS (I’m 15.3.1) so that’s a little different, but that should work. You could try “Full Disk Access” just to test, but I’m at a bit of a loss. You’re just grabbing the MIDI event and dragging it out, right? Not really sure what else to check.

I tried the full disk access but doesnt work either.
Lets see if someone is having the same problem.
I work a lot with other producers so i´m exporting a lot of midi events from stuff i create , so this is kind of a very annoying thing.

No matter what i try seems impossible on my side do make this happen.
If anyone has more insights on this please let me know!

Let’s make sure we’re using the right terms. I’m presuming when you say “drag the midi event” you really mean “drag the midi PART.” In Cubase the MIDI “event” is one midi note that, typically with other midi events, is collected into a MIDI “Part.”

Audio parts/events can be different, but we’re talking about MIDI. You’re trying to drag MIDI PART to the desktop right? You’re not trying to drag “a MIDI Event inside the MIDI Part Editor,” correct?

Just making sure we’re talking about the same thing. If so, what is actually happening when you drag it out? Have you followed these instructions?

As a cubase user the naming “MIDI event” always implies the full rectangle on the timeline consisting of midi notes inside ( when you double click you open the midi editor. When you drag that midi event of the cubase window to the desktop it exports that into a midi file that contains only that midi part, nothing else. I always did this and for me thats absolutely the fastest way of exporting. Not many DAW´s do this .
I have cubase 13 ( this works perfectly well) and i´m testing cubase 14 ( didnt buy it yet, still under the 60 days test period.

Just making sure  So what happens in C14? Is there an error or just a silent fail? I do this both in C14P and Nuendo 13 and it works as expected.

In cubase 13 i drag the midi event to the desktop and works, makes a midi file on my desktop.
In cubase 14 the mouse arrow shows a forbidden symbol and doesnt allow to drop the midi event. nor in any other disk or external drive.
It just doesnt allow me do drag and drop elsewhere the midi part.
I cant explain better.

If there’s some way you can get a video of that it may help the folks here. I now (generally) understand but can’t recreate.

I presume this is for ANY project, yes? You’ve created an empty project and drawn in a tiny midi part with a few events and tried that?

Yes , all projects.

Ok, one last test - if you open a finder window on your desktop to Downloads, does it by chance let you drop it there? This still points to a permissions issue, and since Downloads aren’t (by default) part of your iCloud sync (potentially) that might be a clue too.

I get it if you’re too frustrated to keep the back-and-forth, but since you’ve already given C14 Full Disk Access and permissions to your desktop I’m at a loss.

Ye , its frustrating this. I tried all of that. Maybe i need to open the terminal and do some permissions check or something, i dont know. Loosing some patience on this right now. I´m exporting complete midi files and open ableton so i get get only what i want…imagine…that…

No, that’s a midi part as explained from Thor before.

GADS MAN! We can’t have that!

Let me try and break mine and see what I can come up with. I have faith.

Did you copy your C13 preferences over or did you start from scratch with C14P trial? I’m curious if resetting your preferences would help (make a backup first).
