There is an issue when deleting Expression Maps in the Exp. Map setup. It seems to change the order and thus reassigns Exp. Maps to different tracks.

Often times one needs to transpose key switches to an higher or lower octave. The VSL Vienna Instruments player has the ability to transpose all key switches by a simple click and drag. This would be great in the Expression Map setup. There is this sort of but it only works for one note at a time. To be able to select e.g everything from C0 to B1 and then transpose them up and out of the conflicting range while leaving everything from C-2 to B-1 would be great. Even if there was a keyboard in the UI to indicate the range as well.

Expression maps need a LOT of love. Great concept, implemented pretty well, just really need some updating now they’re really catching on.

Sorting by name would be a good start, and duplicate.

+1 for being able to “select” an expression map and also to be able to see ALL expression maps in the inspector.

The new forums has a voting system. Not sure if Steinberg is using it per se, but everyone can add their vote for this feature using the Vote button above. Probably more effective than ‘+1’ replies.

Totally agree. Much needed.
Updating a map from disk is also a pain, as it does not get overwritten and you have to rename them and assign them to each instrument.

Steinberg!

The multitude have spoken!. 10 years now and no update!

Please! Please do not let your public wait until Cubase 12!

Yes, we know MIDI 2 will change everything

Expression maps are both fantastic and poorly implemented

The best and the worst bit of programming in Cubase 11!

I have just written 2000 expression maps. Took me 4 weeks full time! Could be SO much easier!

I could list all the improvements required, but they are Obvious, we need a rewrite in the next update PLEASE!

We can wait no longer!

has anything from the OP requests been added in V11?

In the key editor it should be possible to hide the unused articulations, similar to how you can hide unused instruments in the drum editor. Extensive expression maps, e.g. for VSL, currently occupy too much space in the key editor. You can delete unused lines from an expression map and save them as a new map, but if you later need a deleted articulation, you have to search for the corresponding data again.
