I have a piece with offset barlines. I am trying to create a dashed barline as shown in the pic (I will then hide the compound time signatures). Is there a built in way to have that dashed line extend to be a single dashed line without doing it in engraving options?
Hi @mbira, I am not sure what you are asking for and what is your setup (from a screenshot is difficult to tell). I tried to replicate your situation, and I show two examples: to transform the aggregate TS dotted barlines (on single staves) to a dotted barline on both staves of a grand staff and to transform a full barline into a dotted barline.
Since you have local time signatures, to apply the desired barlines only to the desired staves you need keeping Option(Alt) pressed, while applying the new barline (I applied the barlines using the panel, but you can also use the Popover):
