External Editor audio device error

In Wavelab 12 Pro I am trying to use iZotope RX as an external editor. I can open Spectralayers, however I cannot open RX10. It gives the error ‘The selected audio device cannot be opened‘, followed by some code ‘Input MMResult=0x1 [0x7]‘.

Could anyone help me out how to set up RX as an external editor in Wavelab?

This does not look like a message from WaveLab. I don’t know RX, but maybe this application tries to open the audio driver while it is already open in WaveLab.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

My solution:

  1. In RX, go to ‘preferences’;
  2. Select the driver you want;
  3. Accept/exit the error notifications;
  4. Change ‘input device’ to ‘No audio device’.

Hopefully this solution works for someone else too!
