External FX sending signal with fader down.

I’ve inserted an External FX to my 1176 hardware compressor as an insert on a Cubase channel that has a bass recording. The i/o is 4 that I set up in Externla FX in VST connections… When the fader is down, the software playback in my RME Totalmix shows a full signal. I asked RME about it and they said it’s Cubase’s problem. So, I was wondering what in Cubase would not prevent the signal from being attenuated by the fader. FYI, it also isn’t attenuated when I mute the channel.

Hi,

Right-click to the Inser effect, and move it to the Pre-fader slot.

As said this is not a “problem”, but standard basic signalflow for any prefader insert.
