I am looking for some confirmations and possible suggestions to help me organize or structure things well.
In the external instrument, is it possible to add/remove input/outputs after the instrument is created? If I wanted to add or remove a bus for whatever reason, is there another means to do so?
When activating the outputs for the external instrument and updating the track names, is it possible to save the routing information with them when saving the track preset? When I currently save the track preset, the bus routing does not save and needs to be re-assigned each time the instrument is added.
Even though the external instrument busses are set as “mono” the mixer tracks display as stereo, is this intended or is there another setting somewhere that corrects or adjusts for that?
I know there is no means to “fold” tracks. So, what is a good quick process to collapse tracks in the mixer based on the folder they are in for the project view? Additionally, would it be possible to change the visibility based on their routed target (group channels for something like bass, drums, keys, etc.).
I know these are all little things but I thought I would throw it out here to see what others or doing or get some thoughts.
In your screenshot the TR-8S is stereo and all the others are mono. The reason you see things like Panners on those mono Tracks is because they are being routed to Stereo and not Mono busses. Which is generally what’s needed - for example most folks want to spread their toms across the Panorama rather than having them all in the center on top of each other.
About the point #4, I would associate tracks routed to a given group in their own folder. This would allow me to hide/show the whole set of tracks involved with the Visibility panel of the MixConsole left zone, by simply clicking in it on the involved folder. I guess that someone will chime in with something better (Q-Link ?), but still…
Thanks for the suggestion. I am looking to possibly have something show/no show with a simple click or button. I have a stream deck I could map or a console 1 I could map.
Just take this set and bury it away until I need to dig into it.
