I have a similar but more severe problem, so I hope I can piggyback on Andrew’s question:
I’ve just upgraded to Cubase Elements 12, (from Cubase AI 10.5) and am also using a new computer.
My interface is a Steinberg UR22mk2 which has worked great in the past. My new system works, but I cannot trigger any instruments with my external keyboard - via the UR22. Cubase recognises the UR22 and is passing audio. Midi activity is displaying in the small window at the very bottom right of the Cubase window, but instruments such as HALion, Groove Agent, or other VSTs will not sound nor are they displaying midi input activity in their own dedicated windows despite midi channel settings being correct.
Under Studio/Studio Setup/Midi Port Setup; the UR22 is listed and ticked.
I’ve also followed all the suggestions above under Midi/Midi filter to ensure only SysEx is ticked.
Any help appreciated - very frustrating!
