External multitimbral midi instrument

I want to connect my Multitimbral External (midi) Soundmodule to Dorico. In the Play/VST and MIDI window I linked with the interface under “midi instruments” and assigned it to Port 1 and 16 channels. In the Track inspector I can assign the player to one of these channels, but how do I assign the program number of the instrument I want ? 71 for clarinet, 42 (violincello), 65 (altosax) etcetera. The connection works, per player I can assign a different channel and hear a different instrument, but not the instruments I want : how can I program these numbers in Dorico ? Thanks !

That’s tricky. You could do it with expression maps, where you assign a specific program change to the Init switch. So you would create an expression map for clarinet and set a program change of 71 in the Init switch, and create a cello expression map, setting a program change of 42, and so on.

Thanks. Getting one step closer. But, I don’t see a Program Change in the Ex.map pop up, I tried to create one myself, assigned the “PC”, but then got lost in the Init and Base and other parameters. Can I import this item from somewhere?
