External sound card

Hi there,

I bought an external sound card as I was getting too much delay using my MIDI keyboard with cubase. When I have my speakers plugged into the sound card it plays through it fine (and I can use the keyboard with other programmes). When I try and use it in cubase, the sound plays through my laptop speakers and bypasses the external sound card and speakers. This only happens when the sound card is plugged in.
Does anyone know how I can solve this?

Hi,

Select the ASIO driver in Studio > Studio Setup > VST Audio System.

Thanks for the reply.

I’ve tried using ASIO4ALL and the generic low latency driver, both of which only play out of the laptop speakers.
Using the Realtek ASIO I get no sound at all.
Any thoughts?

In ASIO4ALL you can choose what Audio Device should be used. What external Audio Device is it? Did you install the driver?
