Inserting an instance of Fabfilter Pro Q3 as an insert on a track raises the volume ( audible, and visible on the meters by at least 6dB) of that track without doing any changes to the plug-in!
I’m on latest version of Windows 10, HP Z820.
Do you have Auto Gain enabled ? Could cause something like that!

Same issue for me on Macbook Pro. Read that it had something to do with mono/stereo instances and was fixed in update, but isn’t fixed for me. Have reinstalled multiple times. Works fine on stereo tracks, 6db gain and possible other issues on mono tracks. Anyone have a fix?
Ran into the same problem here but the volume increase is only in the VST 2 version, VST 3 works fine.
