I’ve started a Facebook group for Musical Theatre & Opera composers, orchestrators, engravers, et al., who use or are learning Dorcio, i.e., “Finale refugees/migrators”.
In FB, do a search for “Dorico for Musical Theatre & Opera Composers, Orchestrators, & Engravers”
We have specific needs in any software as we deal with singers, lyrics, stage/sound cues, dialogue, a mix of acoustic & electric instruments, perhaps unusual notation (you know MT can get weird at times & Opera loves ossias).
For those migrating from Finale (or other software) after years (decades) of using it, I felt we needed a group to help each other as we learn Dorico.
I hope this hasn’t offended anyone. Just trying to deal with the cards we’ve been dealt (with deadlines looming) now that the shock is over.
Thank you.

Dear Trish
Welcome!
Good idea – But could I make a suggestion?
I used to be in the Dorico FB group, until I discovered that it’s a “public group”, and so all my friends and family were getting Notifications of “Ben says 'It’s in Engraving Options…” all the time.
I’d be happy to join, as long as the posts are restricted to within the group, rather than being public.
I realise you may prefer that the group is searchable by anyone; I’m not sure what options you have as the group admin: but if you could have a look, that would be great.
In the meantime, I did this video a while ago about creating an opera score in Dorico. As a Baroque opera, it’s not as complex as some, but it has lots of useful points. (I think.)
Hello!
Yes, the group is PRIVATE.
It is also VISIBLE, i.e., anyone who searches the name can find the group. But not see who’s in it or the posts.
Please join & share your video link there! I, for one, look forward to watching it.
Thank you!
