Can you check your buffer size?
You should find it at Studio - Studio Setup - “Your Audio Interface” - Control Panel.
If the buffer size is large put it lower.
256 is small enough, it shouldn’t cause a noticable delay, the problem is somewhere else.
What is the input and output latency in that is displayed next to the control panel button?
I’m experiencing the same delay - completely empty project. When pressing space bar, the play button graphic immediately turns green, but it takes the actual transport 0.5 seconds before it starts moving. All my other DAWs play instantly.
Cubase will always fill up its buffers before commencing playback.
This is the latency of the audio interface + channel latencies caused by plugins + ASIO Guard.
From my experience talking to people there is usually an exageration when talking about time durations. So when you say 0.5 seconds it might as well be 0.2 seconds (no disrespect intended, I do the same exageration). That would fit be ASIO Guard on High and interface latency.
Having just experienced the very same issue, I’ve had to switch back to studio one as it’s a really irksome drawback. I had great hopes for switching to Cubase but I’ll have to keep an eye on developments before committing.
I have the same issue. Empty project , no plugins, no control room. Macbook m1 pro.
Just jumped to the mac. On Windows it just works ok. It is so annoing I cant have a talk with real support. We only have a forum and cubase support just dont answer this question. We pay money for it, please fix it or give us feedback.
