This again:
“Failed to update the following components: Steinberg Install Assistant.”
I did this “fix” tinkkery https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/360017126320?os=mac&sda-version=1.33.2&sam-version=1.4.11.903&slm-version=3.2.20.280&elc-version=6.12.8.3315&sia-version=1.2.0.65
And again got this: “Failed to update the following components: Steinberg Install Assistant.”

Frustrating. Again.

Did the manual installation work?

Do you have any permissions restrictions?

Manual installation fails same way as auto. All installstions went through fine without any errors. Dont know where to look to fix permissions and how they can be wrong since all other sw installations has worked ok.

DO I understand you right, you don’t get any error during the installation and it seems, everything is installed properly. But once you start Steinberg Download Assistant, you get this message. Am I right?

Thats right Martin.
I’ve had this problem twice before and it was fixed by following the manual reinstallation instructions. Manual installation didn’t work this time.
