Failure to create more than one slice in a dorico file

When attempting to create more than one slice in a dorico project, the software hard exits and you loose any work you have done. I performed the following steps to see if I could work around this issue:

  1. Create slice from page 1. Successful.
  2. Save file. Successful.
  3. Exit Dorico and restart. Successful
  4. Attempt to create slice from page 2. After entering the slice name, the program hard exits.

Work around is this:

  1. Create first slice. Save slice
  2. Do not save the file with the slice chosen.
  3. Exit file.
  4. Restart Dorico
  5. Create second slice. Save slice.
  6. Do not save the file.

I then use Adobe acrobat to pull the two slices together in a file. (It’s a hymn, takes two pages, but different lengths).

If Dorico has crashed, then create a Diagnostic Report from the Help menu, and post it here.

I can’t reproduce that.

Does it happen on any project, even if you start with a new one? Or just the one you’re working on? If the latter, could you share it?

And just to be sure: you’re talking about ‘slide’ in the subject, and ‘slice’ in the message. You are trying this?
