In cubase 14 pro if you want to rutting an Fx channel to a subgroup that existed before the Fx channel, the rutting is not possible. Only if the Fx channel is after the creation of the subgroup can it be done. Please fix it
There is nothing to fix. Cubase prevents the user from feedback loops. You need to check if the subgroup is already routed to the fx.
It doesn’t make sense, if they don’t want feedback that they don’t give the option, but if I want to send my Reverb from an Fx channel to a new subgroup with the rest of my mix I should be able to do it without having to recreate a new fx channel and reassign everything again. This did not happen in previous versions.
I feel silly for asking, but what is “rutting?” Do you mean “routing?” Not correcting you, just making sure I understand the term.
I do this in CB14 constantly without issue (if we’re talking about routing) so I would test again with a new project and ensure there isn’t some other existing routing selection that prevents this. I just tested this:
- Created Group Track from multiple existing tracks and tested.
- Created a new FX track from another track and can send to previous Group.
- Created empty FX track, used send from another track FX and routed FX to the Group.
I can’t NOT route as you described, so my guess is that there’s a dependency somewhere that’s preventing you from doing this, and not a bug in the “order you create tracks.”
Yes, I meant routing. This keeps happening to me in an empty project.
Image number 1 is an Fx channel created before the group.
Image number 2 is an Fx channel created after the group
This only happens to me with Fx channels, in audio channels it doesn’t even happen in other subgroups
There is a preference in Cubase that adds Sends to newly created tracks.
When you already have an FX Channel and add a Group Track, with this preference turned on, the Group Track will automatically get a Send to your FX Channel. This Send is what prevents you from routing the FX Channel to the Group Track since it might create a feedback loop.
To solve the issue, simply remove the Send from the Group Track.
You could also consider disabling the automatic creation of sends.
Thank you, deactivate that option in preferences I solve it.
