When I start up wave lab I get a fatal error message.
I get the same message when I start up an existing file. Last time it worked fine.
I restarted my computer.
Reinstalled Wavelab.
Still the same message and wavelab is frozen. When I click away the message Wavelab shuts down.
Any idea how i can fix this?
I would start by deleting the General.data file in your WaveLab Preferences Folder, or if that doesn’t work, the entire WaveLab Preferences Folder.
Before you do that, I would back it up in case you want to manually put back any presets or settings that you rely on.
I’m not a Windows user so I can’t be as certain as I would be if it were a Mac issue.
Files to delete:
\WaveLab Pro 11\Preferences\General.dat
\WaveLab Pro 11\Cache\Window Config\MasterSectionPreset.dat
Otherwise, erase the entire folder which on Windows should be here: \AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 11
Again, it up before deleting so you can restore any special presets you might want back without having to recreate them.
Seems to be plugin related not WL.
I had a similar problem with a WAVES plugin last week. I had to reinstall the WAVES bundle to get it to work.
I had a problem with waves plugins actually last week too, an upgrade to clarity vx pro to be specific, reverted back and all is well again
