Yeah I have this one mapped too and use it all the time! To “trim” the end of the flow I’m accustomed to shift clicking the empty bars I no longer want and using the same shortcut. Different way to skin a cat I suppose, but works for me.
Early on I remapped my rhythmic grid (increase/decrease) to numpad +/- rather than the default which I think is cmd+brackets. This is also because I work in DAWs and what I’d been accustomed to there.
cmd +/- to increase or decrease any selected dynamic value. I use this one CONSTANTLY. It’s a dream to be able to quickly adjust dynamics.
alt +/- to increase or decrease selected rhythmic note values.
I changed my numpad asterisk * to activate note input (in addition to shift+N), when my right hand fingers are hovering over the numpad and my left hand on my midi piano, I like to be able to activate note input without needing to move over with a modifier key. I forget what the default was but apparently not something I use enough…
numpad = to enter tuplets.
(it does not bother me that flat/sharp are taken over here, esp since I mostly play in from a keyboard)
I have function keys opening windows like the mixer and plugins, and the editor windows for playing/playback techniques, perc & exp maps.
And also added shift+spacebar to double up ‘p’ play from selection, because I like my transport start/stop functions to be focused on spacebar – perhaps a habit from the world of DAWs, and not wanting to reach across.
From the defaults I live and die by all the navigation and duplication shortcuts. Moving or copying music up and down (M/N variants), and my favorite of all, ‘R’ – so much so I have modified my DAW shortcuts to match this behavior wherever possible. It’s amazing!
