My favorite capability from Finale… my key workflow item is to be able to import audio (mp3, WAV) and be able to notate against the sync’d audio track.
Ex 1: composed guitar/vocal on mp3 - needing to notate other instrument accompaniment and hearing real time live playback.
Ex 2: including sampled audio sounds in new composition

Will Dorico be able to import audio files in the future?
Are there plans to make importing audio into Dorico a real, usable feature in Dorico 4.0?
A good amount of my work involves creating arrangements on top of existing audio.
At the moment, the only way I can get audio into my project is by creating a “fake” video file that I can then import into Dorico. However, this method is cludgy and imprecise. I understand the import feature of audio has been requested several times.
Is there a roadmap in place for this feature? It’s been asked since at least 2016 on this forum and the answer then was ‘it’s in development’.
I’d like to invest money into Dorico, but this is quite bad. Is there any time-commitment to this feature request?
