(Feature Request) Cubase remote problem

Hi

I use Cubase remote when I record in my studio. Today I needed to record just 16 bars and I set the auto punch in/out accordingly. I have created a button in the Cubase remote to activate push in and out, but in the small overview of my tracks nothing indicates if the punch in is on or not!
Isn’t there a way to make the punch in/out activation state show in the time line of the remote?
That would make it much easier to use!

Regards Musicmind

How did you implement your remote? Is it scripted, or done using the assistant?

Hi,

What kind of MIDI Remote device do you use (what hardware)? Do you see the timeline (main ruler) on the hardware display?

Be aware, by default, the Punch In/Out position is linked to the Left/Right Locators. Therefore you don’t see them on the main ruler in Cubase.

Once you disable the Lock Punch Points to Locators option, you will se the red indicators in the main ruler.

I should maybe have been more specific, but what I meant is, that I use the Cubase Remote for Ipad: https://www.steinberg.net/cubase-ic-pro/

There’s a dedicated forum for Cubase IC Pro within this forum

I have moved your thread because chances are higher that one of the devs or other knowledgeable people respond.

okay!

Hi!

Disclaimer: I have just recently purchased IC Pro so I would consider myself a newbie.

I didn’t find an option to see the state of Punch-In in IC Pro.
Looking at Cubase, active Punch-Ins and Outs are visible in the transport panel and also in the main ruler if you unlock punch points from their locator positions like Martin said. I think the latter would be a viable option for IC Pro and actually quite helpful.

Unless noone else knows a way how to display active punch points in IC Pro you should add the tag “feature request”.

Hi @Reco29,

Please enter “punch” in the key commands search field. This should show several punch‑in/out‑related key commands, which can then be assigned to the appropriate key commands buttons.

Hope that helps.

Best,
Lars

Sorry, but I think you missed the point @LSlowak

Hi @Reco29

Sorry for misreading the topic.

Best,
Lars

It’s all fine!

I have been an IC Pro user since 2016-17. the application is what it is. If it works as it is, better. Don’t expect new features. They are not going to arrive. The only thing they have implemented is a larger window with transportation controls that I think no one on the forum has asked for, or I doubt it was the most requested.

I have been and am an advocate for Steinberg as I have a lot of his software. It’s great in many ways but I have to say that with IC Pro, and looking at the competition, Steinberg is VERY far behind. It was in his hands to change that.

I repeat, IC PRO is a very good extension for Cubase/Nuendo, mandatory I would say, but to be honest and sincere, for a paid application it leaves a lot to be desired.
