Feature Request: Current Selection retains after undo/redo

This is akin to the binary menu option in RX “Recall selections during undo/redo”

I am trying to audition some modules and processes, and habit has me wanting to use the undo/redo in place of an A/B auditioning to help contextualize. SL functionally wants to recall my previous selections when going up the undo chain, instead of just undoing the last actioned process, so this request is to decouple the selection from the process in undo history.

Can supply a video for context if use is unclear for non RX familiar users

I don’t know if related;
the SL12 undo functionality was modified to rather group “like actions” into “one undo action” as previous to SL12 the limited number of undos would “run out” before arriving back at editing starting point even when max undo levels were set. Undos were not user definable how many to retain. At a guess, I bet all of us set the undos to max. Users of SLP10 and 11 asked for this modification to the undo behaviour and what @Robin_Lobel employed has certainly been an improvement in my workflow. If I want to A/B; I set up layers.

OK, @J_Harry are you asking to retain the redos as well? So you can jump back and forth to A/B? Asking for expansion of/ user control of undo/redo? What I gather from your question is you want to go back to pre SLP12 functionality…maybe I misunderstand.

@J_Harry It’s sort of possible to achieve something close to that by going to SpectraLayers Preferences > System > uncheck Include New Selection Event.

Not exactly the behavior you’re looking for, but close.
