Feature Request: External Hardware I/O / External FX Insert for Cubasis

Hi everyone,

I’d like to request a dedicated External Hardware I/O / External FX insert for Cubasis, similar to Logic Pro’s I/O plug-in or the External FX functionality available in Cubase Pro.

I’m very interested in using Cubasis as the center of my iPad workflow, especially because of its DAWproject support. Being able to start a project on iPad and later continue working on it in Bitwig Studio or Studio One is a huge advantage for me.

The main feature currently missing for my workflow is an easy way to integrate external analog hardware.

I use a multichannel audio interface and external analog processors for mixing and mastering. Currently, I can manually send a Cubasis track to a hardware output, run it through my analog chain, return it through another interface input, and record that return onto another track.

That works, but it would be much more powerful and convenient if Cubasis had a dedicated insert where I could simply choose:

Hardware output / stereo output pair

Hardware return input / stereo input pair

Mono or stereo operation

Round-trip latency compensation

Manual latency adjustment if needed

Bypass for easy processed/unprocessed comparison

Essentially:

Cubasis track → External I/O insert → audio interface output → analog hardware → interface input → same Cubasis signal path

For users working with compressors, EQs, mastering processors, synthesizers, drum machines, guitar hardware, and other outboard equipment, I think this would significantly improve Cubasis as a professional iPad DAW.

For me personally, the combination of DAWproject + proper external hardware insert support would make Cubasis extremely compelling as my main iPad DAW.

I’d love to know if other Cubasis users working with external hardware would find this useful as well.

Thanks for considering it!

Yes!

This feature would be awesome to have. I’m also using Logic Pro for iPad. I think Cubasis 3 will definitely benefit from integrating external F/X plugins! Hopefully, we can see this soon
